This Sunday (26 July) we will be celebrating 30 years of National Tree Day, when Australians everywhere are encouraged to plant a tree, perhaps join a local tree-planting event, or just appreciate the role trees play in our neighbourhood and the wider environment.

Showerheads tend to become clogged after years of use, usually from mineral deposits, and that can impact water pressure. The good news is, there is an easy solution with a household staple.
If the showerhead can be detached, soak it overnight in a bowl of white vinegar. If not, fill a ziplock bag with vinegar and place it over the showerhead, securing it with a rubber band. Leave for 12 hours, then remove the bag and run water through until the water clears.

A reminder that next Monday (27 July), a Critical AusAlert test will be sent to all mobile devices in Australia. This includes most phones, some smart watches and tablets, which will vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds.
An AusAlert message will also appear on device screens, clearly saying it is a test. So we can all ignore it for now, and hope it is never needed for real.
