Home values remain high, despite moderate growth in the early months of 2026, according to figures released this week by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
The latest figures show that the total value of Australia’s residential dwellings rose 2.5 per cent in March quarter 2026, lifting the mean home price by $22,300 to $1,111,100.

The Great Australian Dream is alive and well, with new research showing that around two-thirds of Australian households own their home, while around 30 per cent rent.
