Emerald: the colour of 2013

Pantone* has announced that Emerald is the Colour of the Year for 2013 - a ‘lively, radiant, lush green’ that will promote ‘regeneration, balance and harmony’.

“Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other colour in the spectrum,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute®.

“Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world.

“This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors”, she added.

If you’re not ready to paint an entryway or feature wall, however, try adding the colour through dinnerware, appliances, cushions or bath towels.
