It’s only just beginning

Australia’s first full-scale 3D printed house has been in the news recently, as much for its uniqueness as for showcasing a potential future for housing.

Aptly named Genesis, the 2-storey Sydney duplex was built on-site in 12 weeks by Contour-3D, using 40 per cent recycled materials in the mix. It has an impressive 7.9-star energy rating (NatHERS) for thermal performance, meaning the property is energy-efficient, needing minimal heating and cooling. Image: Contour3D
