Squeaky floorboards be gone

It’s currently fashionable to replace traditional carpeted floors with polished wooden flooring, but after years of expansion and contraction floorboards can be prone to creaking. It not only drives the family crazy, but could also drive potential buyers away if your house is on the market.

To get rid of squeaks, try pouring some talcum powder, cornstarch or powdered graphite between the floorboards that are rubbing together. If this doesn’t work, have a professional take a look for possible structural problems.
