The Market Is Moving — Are You Ready for Spring?

Hi everyone,

A message for Father’s day

With Father’s day this weekend, I would like to wish all the wonderful dads in our community a memorable, enjoyable weekend. Thank you for the strength, resilience, and support you show your families every day.

Spring has sprung – and so has the property market!

While headlines suggest a challenging property market, the right strategy makes all the difference. As the top-performing agent in the area, my team and I consistently outperform the broader market. Over the past six months, we achieved an impressive 98% clearance rate, maintaining a strong 85% clearance rate over the last month alone.

Properties are not selling by accident. Our success comes down to a tailored plan, proactive buyer nurturing, and an extensive local database. Best of all, by partnering with Team Ockerlander and McGrath, we provide your home with a level of marketing reach, network visibility, and buyer exposure that other agencies simply cannot match.

Wattle for Olympic gold?

Brisbane has been in the midst of a stir this week, with the Queensland Wattle Association pushing for Brisbane to bloom green and gold at the 2032 Olympics.

The campaign to have households plant wattle trees is meeting some opposition from hay fever suffers, however, who say those yellow flowers make them sneeze. But is this a myth? What plants can we grow in our gardens that will not exacerbate sinus problems?

Feather duster needed here

It might look amazing, but can you imagine keeping it dust-free? An estate in Malibu has just hit the market, boasting a ‘powder’ room lined with 3,000 genuine peacock feathers.

Aptly named ‘Peacock Alley’ after the wild birds roaming the neighbourhood, the newly-renovated estate has a price tag around US$16.9 million (AU$23.5m).

Try this for size

A Swedish group has built three homes based on what a 25-year-old could buy in Sweden today, with the smallest measuring just 1.9 square metres, or not much bigger than a bathroom.

Using official data, the group calculated how many square metres of housing a young person can afford based on income, property prices and mortgage conditions in three different towns. The homes are now on show to highlight the housing crisis facing the young.
