Lest we forget …

Hi everyone

I hope you have had a great week and are enjoying the first week of the school holidays with your loved ones. I took my 4 grandkids to Tree Tops Adventure in the State Forest at West Pennant Hills on Sunday. It was so much fun and very relaxing climbing around amongst the trees. They have easier courses and then you can work up to the harder ones. If you are not scared of heights, I recommend that you give it a go and if you are, still give it a go. My youngest granddaughter, Dorothy surprised me with her perspective on how to conquer her fear of heights. “You just can’t think about being scared Nan, you have to think it is safe and it is easy”. She did really well. It is amazing how much you can learn from an 8-year-old.

This week we have a great weekend with many open homes and an auction this Saturday at  1/56 Linton Avenue, West Ryde at 4:30pm, with viewing at 4:00pm. Our other opens are listed to the right.

Last Saturday we sold 10 Milham Avenue, Eastwood for a price of $2,390,000 and 3/43 Dorset Street, Epping for $1,500,000. Our purchasers and vendors are very happy.

This week on The Real Estate Conversation, John McGrath discusses the most popular regions with relocating city dwellers.

EPPING ROTARY needs your help please:

Do you have debating experience? On behalf of Epping Rotary, I facilitate the Year 5 inter school debating competition each year. We are currently in need of two more adjudicators. If you love giving back to the community and can spare a couple of hours on a Tuesday afternoon, we have 7 rounds that we need adjudicators for. Please contact me on 0408 50 50 80 if you are interested or if you know someone who may be.

The Epping Bulls Cricket Club and Epping Football Club would love to see you. You can join and play or support by watching a game or two and cheering on.  They are all amazing teams and are well worth your support.

Best wishes

Betty and team

Rooftop solar powers up

Rooftop solar now accounts for 11.2 per cent of Australia’s electricity supply, with households and businesses playing a leading role in Australia’s renewable energy transition, according to a report published this week.

NSW broke the record for the highest annual installed capacity of any state, while Queensland was the first state to surpass a total of one million rooftop solar installations.

Time to check for water damage

With communities across the eastern states again mopping up after torrential storms, now is the time to check for water damage to your home.

Not all water damage is as obvious as flooded crawl spaces or pools of water collecting against building foundations. Storms can cause structural damage, and it is often the small, undetected leaks that cause the most damage in the long run.

Small kitchen seating

Is your kitchen too small to fit a table all the family can sit around?

Consider installing bench seating along a wall or corner, with a table that can be pushed back over it when it’s not in use. Optimise on storage by incorporating cupboards or lift-up lids on the benches, then add comfy cushions to welcome long chat sessions over dinner or a cuppa.

Gold toilet thief spills

A man has finally pleaded guilty to the 2019 theft of a £4.8m (AU$9.3m) gold toilet from Blenheim Palace, where it was part of an exhibition.

The fully functioning 18-carat toilet was plumbed in at the time, causing extensive flooding and damage to the heritage home when it was removed. The thief has previous form, having been caught for numerous ‘grand’ thefts including tractors, and trophies from the National Horse Racing Museum.
